I stumbled accross this website while "googling" for information about the LDAP protocol.  I really loved the plain english explanation of what it is and how it works.  I have read several tutorials on LDAP in the past, and they all get very technical immediately and start talking about CN and UIDs etc.  Your explanation was awesome!  I finally "Get" LDAP Smiley   Thanks!

Hey thanks Rob! That's exactly why I wrote the piece. I update it from time to time. Speaking of directories, I've just finished an iPhone app for "beaming" a contact from the phone to another iPhone user or anyone else: myCard.
